INCIS SALE: Police are worried by the Government’s announcement that it may sell mainframe computer used to run INCIS,
and upgrade the Wanganui computer. Police say the move could leave them back to square one, with both systems temporary
off-line while the Wanganui computer was upgraded.
AVALANCHE: Police in Japan are using a specially trained dog and explosives to help find three New Zealanders who were
buried by an avalanche while snow-boarding in northern Japan.

BODY IN RIVER: A homicide investigation has begun after a body was found yesterday in the Wanganui river. Police say
while they can’t yet tell how the person died, there are strong signs that foul play was involved.
LISA BLAKIE INQUIRY: The Lisa Blakie inquiry team say information from the public is crucial in tracking down the
woman’;s killer. The police want to hear from anyone who stopped near the bridge near where Ms Blakie was found, they
also wish to speak to the driver of a black Mitsubishi parked in the area.
KOSOVO TROOPS: In Kosovo Group 7 troops from several countries have fanned out in a the divided city of Mitrovica to
control widespread disorder sparking furious reaction from the town’s Serb community.
INDIA BOMBING: In India 22 police officers have been killed by a landmine in the province of Madhya Pradesh, suspected
to be the work of the People’s War Group. The group says it aims to advance the state of the poor and downtrodden.
HIT SQUAD: A deposition hearing on the charges of five people who are accused to have been responsible for a hit on a
Pukekoe man. They each face aggravated robbery and burglarly charges as well as charges for grievous bodily harm.
POWERLINE SABOTAGE: The trial of the Methven farmer accused of sabotaging powerlines in Southland began today.
