TVNZ BOARD: The Prime Minister has signalled she will reshuffle the board of TVNZ to meet the objectives the government wants. We hope to appoint a board which is compatible with the new objectives of the government, the PM says.
VARIATION 17: The Wellington City Council has voted to review Variation 17 and extend submissions by three months. An amendment to prevent any buildings on Frank Kitts Park was passed by one vote. The decision was made at a meeting which lasted for more than eight hours.
HIJACKERS: Negotiators are continuing to negotiate with Afghani hijackers at Stanstead airport.
NORTHERN IRELAND: A dissident Irish republican group – the continuity IRA – has pledged to conduct a campaign against the British colonial police force.
TAINUI: A Tainui Iwi member says that money has been wasted on the Warriors. She thinks the leaders of the Iwi should resign. Shane Solomon says a meeting will be held in a week after which the executive will decide whether to resign.
MONSANTO: Monsanto is withdrawing its application for a field test of herbicide resistant wheat.
PCPS: The Health Minister Annette King says she is willing to meet with workers who believe they have been poisoned by PCPs.
FILM FUND: The government is thinking about funding a $10 million film development fund to assist film directors to make their second and third fims.
VIDEO REFEREES: Video referees could be delayed because of concerns about the cost.
