MONTREAL GE PROTOCOL: Minister for the Environment is delighted with the Biosafety Protocol settled at Montreal at the weekend. Marion Hobbs says that the agreement is a good balance between trade and the environment.
MONTREAL GE PROTOCOL: Green’s co-leader Jeanette Fitzsimmons says that NZ should grab the gains made at Montreal and ratify the protocol quickly.
TVNZ: Marion Hobbs says TVNZ is paying its news-readers too much. Ms Hobbs says that TVNZ should concentrate on its news product.
LEBANON: An Israeli militiaman has died in Lebanon.
ISRAEL: First round of 10 days of intense talks between Israeli and Palestinian negotiations have begun.
NORTHERN IRELAND: Sinn Fein leader Jerry Adams says he cannot guarantee that the IRA will be disarmed by May 22nd.
SEXUAL ABUSE OF MEN: A trust for the male victims of sexual abuse is pleased with a law change which will allow women to be charged with the indecent assault of men.
NATIONAL CAUCUS: National MPs begin a three day caucus this week in Auckland to discuss why they lost the election.
MOTORWAY CRASH:The police say it will be several days before they know why a vehicle drove off the Auckland motorway onto Victoria Park killing the two cars occupants.
REGATTA DAY: The police in Auckland will be increasing their presence on the Hauraki Gulf for the annual regatta today.
TARANAKI SEARCH: Search for three missing fisherman off Taranaki will continue today.
WINDSURFER MISSING: A windsurfer is also being sought near Pt Chevalier, in Auckland.
