-RANKIN RANKLINGS: WINZ boss Christine Rankin gets criticism in the State Services Commissioner’s Report investigating into the payout involving a WINZ executive whom Ms Rankin says “mislead her”
-HAWKESBY PAYOUT: Opposition Politicians are demanding a full disclosure of the amount of John Hawkesby’s pay-out in the arbitration deal worked out by TVNZ. The broadcaster is appealing the decision of the arbitrator, which it says involve serious legal flaws.
-KIT RICHARDS: The man behind the controversial email calling for pressure to be put on the government over Timberland’s beach logging, Kit Richards, is likely to be dismissed this evening.
-TIMBERLANDS FUTURE: Labour’s policy regarding native logging means the company’s future as an State Owned Enterprise is in doubt. It is likely to be wound up and given to a West Coast community trust.
-GIBBS GUILTY: Millionaire Businessman Alan Gibbs pleaded guilty to a charge of putting people’s lives at risk after he crashed his jet-ski into a woman, breaking her leg.
-AT LARGE: Three bank robbers, responsible for a spate of bank-robberies in Auckland, are still at large although their accomplices have been caught.
-WAITANGI BAN: Associate Maori Affairs Minister Tariana Turia says she will not go to Waitangi Marae if Titewhai Harawira was not allowed to attend.
