RUNWAY DRIVER IN CUSTODY: (Included reconstruction computer image showing the driver playing chicken with a 767) Runway driver back in Police Custody after he breached bail conditions and went to Auckland airport to purchase a ticket home - he was taken to the wrong court - he was asked to explain why he went back to the airport in breach of his bail conditions. Judge asked for a psychiatric assessment to be done. He has now been remanded in custody for this for psychiatric assessment. Takahashi returned to the airport last night to buy an airline ticket. He may be deported if convicted.
CHILD SLAVERY: 50 year old and 45 year old couple accused of keeping eight children in slavery conditions.
TITEWHAI HARAWIRA: Titewhai Harawira has told the PM she will leave her in peace and not follow her to Akaroa.
KIWIS SMUGGLED INTO US: Several NZers are sought for proceedings in the states in a trucking immigration scheme. Six people include one named Harawira - they have been charged with smuggling illegal aliens - NZers - into the states to work as truck drivers. The truck drivers say they did nothing illegal. Video of the alleged king-pin. Extradition proceedings for the charged will take several weeks.
MILLENNIUM BABY: The millennium baby has gone home from hospital. A women's magazine will publish the first pictures.
PASSPORT SCAM: South Korean man has been fined $8000 in connection with a sale of passport scandal. 40 passports were allegedly sold in the scam.
MORTGAGE RATES: BNZ home lending rate up 0.25%.
BIG DAZE OUT: A sold out hive of hyperactivity. 45,000 crammed in. Lots of weird outfits and crowd surfing. Sweating an integral part of the experience. Good cool-off ten provided. 16 arrested so far - generally pleased with crowd. The concert will continue till midnight.
