MFAT On Lombok - Reserve Bank - Cancer Inquiry - Car On Auckland Runway - Models In Court - Exciled Italian PM Dies - Rally Crash
MFAT ON LOMBOK: MFAT says it is monitoring the situation on the Indonesian island of Lombok. It says people shouldn't go there unless they have to and those that are there should stay out of trouble spots.
RESERVE BANK: Bill English says Michael Cullen should have less to say on the Reserve Bank. He says the Finance Minister's statements may unsettle the markets. "He would be better to say less rather than more."
CANCER INQUIRY: The Cancer Inquiry says it will be several weeks before the inquiry will know whether any women died as a result of misread smear test slides. Some of the women whose smears were read by Dr Bottrill have died but causation is not yet determined.
CAR ON AUCKLAND RUNWAY: A representative of air line pilots says he is surprised that a car was on Auckland Airport on Tuesday night. The car - whose lights were seen by a Qantas pilot - was moved out of the way quickly once air traffic control was informed.
MODELS IN COURT: Two partners in a modeling company found guilty of a breach of the Fair Trading Act by misleading models by not disclosing additional costs. Both partners were held liable for the promises of one and the defence of "he may have promised that it was nothing to do with me" - was not accepted.
EXCILED ITALIAN PM DIES: Former Socialist PM of Italy Kraxi has died in excile in Tunisia. He is accused of accepting bribes.
RALLY CRASH: Two injured rally drivers are out of danger after a crash in the Paris-Dhaka rally. The crash involved four cats.
