EXPORTERS URGE CAUTION: Meat Dairy and Forestry industries are advising the government to move cautiously on economic policy changes. Finance Minister Michael Cullen says the ECA and ACC reforms have failed and changes are needed.
HELMUT KOHL: Former German Chancellor Helmut Kohl has resigned over a campaign funding scandal.
PINOCHET: A Chilean plane which will fly General Pinochet home will arrive in the UK shortly – final appeals from those objecting to his return to Chile were due in by 6am this morning NZT.
CAA OR CIA?: The CAA says it is prepared to alter some of the rules which regulate airlines following a very critical report.
CLIMATE CHANGE: More than 100 top climate scientists will meet in Auckland shortly to discuss climate change. Jim Sallinger says that global climate modelling for the future has improved.
TELEVISED SPORT: NZ Cricket says a lack of interest from free-to-air broadcasters was the reason they moved to Sky Television.
