LIAM WILLIAMS-HOLLOWAY: TV3 understands child cancer victim Liam Williams-Holloway has been moved to a European Hospital
to have chemotherapy after trying alternative therapy at a Mexican Clinic. Last year the family created headlines when
they took their son into hiding to avoid chemotherapy.
PIG HUNTERS FOUND: Two overdue teenage pig-hunters emerge from bush near Whakatane with a pig. The three teenagers had
been lost for three days after losing track of their horse in the bush. The teenagers have thanked searchers for looking
for them.
PINOCHET: The British Government has ruled that Augusto Pinochet is not fit to stand trial in Spain for torture and
murder. Four doctors examined Pinochet and decided he was not well enough to stand trial. Victims of his torture are not
pleased. A final decision on whether Pinochet goes home will be made in a week.
GARRY GLITTER RELEASED: Garry Glitter has been released from prison after being sentenced to a prison term for
downloading child pornography on the net. He told media he was sorry for what he had done.
IMMUNISATION: Health Officials believe a new immunisation policy will drastically improve immunisation rates among
children. Primary Schools will this year have to keep an immunisation register. Immunisation Advisory Center spokeswoman
however says more resources will also be needed.
VOLCANO ALERT FOR AUCKLAND: Volcanic risk alert given for Auckland by sicientists. Scientists say that Mt Ruapehu
provides the greatest threat to Auckland. Studies show that on 50 occasions in the last 23,000 years more than a meter
of ash has been dumped on Auckland. The next dump is expected sometime in the next 50 to 300 years.
WAITANGI: Prime Minister Helen Clark is expected to decide this weekend whether she will accept an invitation to
Waitangi on Waitangi day.
HURRICANE RETURNS TO THE SKY: Hurricane Fighter back in the air in Christchurch. Tim Wallis's latest plane is a Hawker
Hurricane dragged out of a Russian Swamp. Tim Wallis says he has been waiting for 10 years. Pilot says the plane flew
beautifully. The plane will feature in this year's warbirds over wanaka.
