1. EVACUATION - Emergency services are sheltering people who were evacuated from a festival after three days of bad weather in Golden Bay
2. Y2K - Banks and stock exchanges that have opened around the world so far have reported no problems with the Y2K bug.
3. HIJACK - The three French hostages who were on the Air India plane hijacked recently say the terrorists seemed to get new weapons when they arrived in Afghanistan.
4. WAR CRIMINAL Britain says it can not stop a suspected war criminal from leaving the country as there is no warrant for his arrest.
5. CHRISTIANITY - The Archbishop of Canterbury has criticised the high status given to the wealthy, famous and powerful. He want a return to traditional Christian values.
6. NEW STADIUM - The opening of Wellington's WestPac Trust stadium has been delayed for a day due to bad weather.
