Sick Kiwi Suffers Setback
- The female brown kiwi being nursed back to health after suffering a broken leg has suffered a setback. The pin placed in her leg to heal the fracture was successfully removed by Massey vets but she has now developed an infection which means she will be in care for three more weeks before being returned to the Urewera National Park. The kiwi eats 400 worms a night, costing around $250 per week.
