Scoop’s Latest Words On Lord Of The Rings Filming

Published: Thu 16 Sep 1999 02:44 PM
Scoop understands that some filming for the massive trilogy The Lord Of The Rings is to take place in the countryside West of Masterton.
The area is covered in bush and would provide good scenery for filming a number of scenes. Scoop also believes that film-maker Peter Jackson may live in the area, in a new house in Matahiwi Road for a period of time during filming.
Publicist for the Lord of the Rings, Sian Clements, said she had no comment to make on any locations for filming.
Our content partner TheOnering.net tells us the following gossip on the infamously secret film:
Elijah Wood, Billy Boyd and John Rhys-Davies are said to be in New Zealand right now gearing up for filming. Wood’s agent says he will be in the country for the next 18 months.
Brian Sergent has been cast as Ted Sandyman.
Sean Connery is not in the production after declining the prize role of Gandalf and rumours about Kylie Minogue playing Galadriel are untrue.
