Scoop understands that some filming for the massive trilogy The Lord Of The Rings is to take place in the countryside
West of Masterton.
The area is covered in bush and would provide good scenery for filming a number of scenes. Scoop also believes that
film-maker Peter Jackson may live in the area, in a new house in Matahiwi Road for a period of time during filming.
Publicist for the Lord of the Rings, Sian Clements, said she had no comment to make on any locations for filming.
