Radio New Zealand Says Sister Marlena Safe
Radio New Zealand is reporting today that Sister Marlena - whose plight in Dili deeply moved so many in New Zealand last week - is safe and well in her convent with the refugees she has been protecting.

Radio New Zealand’s Kim Hill says she managed to contact Sister Marlena this morning. She was unwilling to speak on the phone as she believed it was being listened to but said that she, her fellow sisters and the refugees she has been providing sanctuary for in Dili East Timor are safe.
