The House: Urgency And Estimates

The House has gone into urgency and is currently holding the 8 hour set piece debate of the committee stages of the Appropriation (1999/2000 Estimates) Bill.
Items included in the urgency motion were the Social Welfare (Transitional Provisions—Special Portability Arrangement) Amendment Bill (committee stages), second reading of the Local Government Law Reform Bill (No. 2), the consideration of the select committee report of the Sale of Liquor Amendment Bill (No. 2), the completion of the Child Support Amendment Bill (No. 5) (third reading), the consideration of the select committee report on the Department of Child, Youth and Whanau Services Bill.
There are also three bills for introduction and referral to select committee:
The Appple and Pear Industry Restrusturing Bill;
The kiwifruit Industry Restructuring Bill;
The Penal Institution Bill (no2)
The acting Leader of the House, David Carter said he was still hopeful of there being a question time on Thursday, an attempt for their to be a question time on Wednesday was rejected.
