Published: Tue 22 Jun 1999 01:24 PM
The Scoop team would like to thank all of those who have sent kind wishes and asked how it is going.
Well, to answer your queries, we have made quick and exciting progress in a number of areas.
A new journalist comes on board
We are pleased to announce that Jonathon Hill has been employed as a full-time Scoop journalist. Jonathon attended the Wellington Journalism School in 1997 and was editor of Victoria University Student's Association Salient newspaper in 1998. Recently he has been working as a media officer for the Green Party. Jonathon can be contacted at jonathan@scoop.co.nz
Jonathan brings the number of editorial staff on The Scoop in Wellington to four. Talks are well underway for a range of correspondents and columnists around New Zealand and internationally.
If you would like to be part of this exciting new co-operative venture, contact us on editor@scoop.co.nz or call Ian Llewellyn on (04) 526 2305 or Alastair Thompson on (021) 70 70 44.
Other Staff
In its first week, The Scoop has also brought a sales person on board. Damien Taylor has extensive experience on the net and can be contacted on 025 203 274. He is keen to negotiate sponsorship, advertising and subscription deals. The Scoop remains in the hunt for more sales staff. If you are a self-starter, innovative and believe in the Scoop mission to offer New Zealand's best online news agency services please apply to editor@scoop.co.nz.
Scoop finds a home
The Scoop team has also found office space and is moving in this week. More details on this later in the week and watch out for a celebration early next week.
Editorial content building up
Material is building up, but we welcome more. An extensive set of archives is currently nearing completion and will soon be online and available to Scoop Gold registered users. So register today.
Services operational and more to come
Following a few hiccups last week NewsAgent is now running at peak efficiency. The search engine is also back online and new archive services will shortly be available to registered users.
Finally, The Scoop would like to thank again all the readers who are flocking to the website. Any suggestions on how we can further improve the service will be gratefully received.
