Technology Showcase hits Wellington Friday, Christchurch Mon

Ingram Micro has an interesting pitch for its NZ Technology Showcase which reaches Wellington this Friday (August 22) and Christchurch on Monday (August 25). The company says:
This is a fast track way for you and your colleagues to get an update from the key vendors in the local market.  It is arguably the most efficient way to learn what is going on and where the opportunities are.
There is simply no other way you can meet with more than vendors in just a few hours.
And that's the point. It's one thing to read or hear about the latest technology. It's another thing entirely to see products and services up close for yourself and to talk to knowledgable representatives of more than 50 companies who can answer your questions and put things in context.
By doing all in one day on one site you'll also get to see the big picture. Because there are so many brands involved, you'll be able to compare the ways different companies tackle issues such as mobile productivity, tapping in to cloud services, back up and the internet of things.
Vendors will  run their own demonstrations and presentations on their exhibits, but there's also a seminar programme with 25 sessions from the industry's biggest names including Apple, Microsoft, HP and IBM.
Ingram Micro's NZ Technology Showcase started in 1996. For most of its history it was strictly a trade show for people working in the industry. The morning sessions are still for resellers and professionals, but at 1pm the doors are open to end users.
With about 1000 people attending the Auckland show, visitors found the seminars really informative. The event saw an average of 50 visitors attend each seminar, with international guest speaker, Augie Riolo and Ingram Micro’s Gary Bigwood, being the largest draw cards. Other well attended talks included IBM’s Stephen Marshall sharing insights in predictive analytics helping the NSW Waratahs rugby team identify risks and understand common injuries that players encounter.
