House Rises with Paid Parental Leave Vote Standing

The House rose at 10pm interrupting the first reading of the Education (Breakfast and Lunch Programmes in Schools) Amendment Bill.
Much of the talk around Parliament remained focused on whether National had mistakenly cast the Maori Party’s votes against paid parental legislation or whether the Maori Party had a change of heart.
No vote correction was made before the House rose at 10pm.
