MPs will debate electoral law reform when Parliament sits this afternoon.
After Question Time, the second reading of the Electoral Amendment Bill is scheduled to take place.
This bill implement recommendations made by the Justice and Electoral Committee in its Inquiry into the 2011 General
Election.
The Government upset some people by declining to make changes to a number of aspects to the MMP system with most focus
around the vote threshold and the impact of a party winning an electoral seat and bringing other MPs to the House.
Justice Minister Judith Collins said she would not make change without wide consensus and there was none.
This will be followed by the second reading of the Student Loan Scheme Amendment Bill (No 3)
