Convention Centre Deal Progresses

The committee stage of the New Zealand International Convention Centre Bill has been completed.
The legislation which brings into effect a deal for SkyCity to build a National Convention Centre in exchange for expansion of its gambling operations was reported with amendment by 61 to 59 with National, ACT and United Future in favour and was set down for third reading on the next sitting day.
MPs began the second reading debate of the Social Housing Reform (Housing Restructuring and Tenancy Matters Amendment) Bill.
