MPs will debate local and members bill today.
Following Question Time and the General Debate, Parliament is scheduled to debate the third readings of the Mount Maunganui Borough Reclamation and Empowering Act Repeal Bill and the Riccarton Bush Amendment Bill, then the second reading of the Waitaki District Council Reserves and Other Land Empowering Bill.
The first members bill is the interrupted first reading of the Income Tax (Universalisation of In-work Tax Credit) Amendment Bill. This bill seeks to make the ``In Work’’ tax credit payable to those on benefits.
Following this MPs will hold the first reading debate on the Oaths and Declarations (Upholding the Treaty of Waitangi) Amendment Bill and Local Government (Public Libraries) Amendment Bill.
