Nine Treaty Bills Progress

The House began considering nine bills concerning treaty settlements just after 5pm and finished sitting under extended hours provisions at 9.30pm.
The following bills completed their committee stage and were reported with amendment on a voice vote:
Ngāti Manawa and Ngāti Whare Claims Settlement Bill
Nga Wai o Maniapoto (Waipa River) Bill
Ngati Pahauwera Treaty Claims Settlement Bill
Ngati Porou Claims Settlement Bill
The following bills completed their first reading and were sent to the Maori Affairs Committee for consideration with all parties agreeing except the Green Party MPs abstaining on some of the bills
Maraeroa A and B Blocks Claims Settlement Bill
Maraeroa A and B Blocks Incorporation Bill
Ngāti Manuhiri Claims Settlement Bill
Ngati Whatua Orakei Claims Settlement Bill
Rongowhakaata Claims Settlement Bill
The House adjourned for a week and will sit again on March 20.
