NZ Response: Chilean Earthquake
The Latin American New Zealand Business Council (LANZBC) wishes to express its deepest concern and sympathies to those affected by the disastrous earthquake in Chile over the weekend. LANZBC Chairman Chris Hawley advised today that he had sent a message to the Ambassador of Chile to New Zealand, His Excellency Mr Luis Lillo, conveying these sentiments. More>>

Tsunami Threat To NZ Cancellation
Based on scientific assessment a decision has been made to cancel the Tsunami Advisory in place over night. Sea level data indicate the peak of activity has passed. There will be ongoing sea level fluctuations and tidal effects for the rest of the day throughout the country. People are advised to continue to take caution in coastal areas. More>>
