This year 2009 is the 36th anniversary of the death of Pablo Neruda, a Chilean poet, winner of the 1971 Nobel Prize for Literature. Chilean and Latin American people from all over New Zealand want to celebrate his achievements with a radio programme.
The event has been organized by INCAL (Instituto de Arte y Cultura Latino Americano, Wellington). The Radio programme will contain general information about the life and work of this extraordinary poet.
Rolando Olmedo, director of Incal, had the opportunity to meet Pablo Neruda and will read poems in Spanish. English versions will read by Miguel Robins, narrated by Tom Langford and background guitar music will be played by Mika.
Notes: Incal (Instituto de Arte y Cultura Latinoamericana –Wellington) is a non-profit, community organization created in 1992. Its aim is to promote and support Latin American art and culture In New Zealand to preserve and promote Latin American values, to maintain contact with other Latinos and coordinate projects with groups sharing similar objectives.
