The Thursday Wire Hosted By Imogen Neale
1215 – New Zealand Herald's Fran O'Sullivan on H-Fee
It sucks when a cunning plan back fires – makes you feel like a dork. Which might be how Labour party secretary Mike Williams is feeling this morning given the way the H-Fee story has been received. Although if he's still in Melbourne he might not care that it's being called a "fizzer". We'll hear from NZ Herald political journalist Fran O'Sullivan about the story that's now more than 20 years old and a bit of mystery to many of us.
1245 – 'Natural Ange'
Then we move to the WIRE's focus this week – health. The Minister couldn't join us at the top of the hour – he'll be off a plane and with us at 1.40 we hope.
But health isn't all hospitals and waiting lists –it's also things like acupuncture, naturopathy and homoeopathy.
The very familiar 'Natural Ange' – who is a registered nurse, a member of the New Zealand Association of Medical Herbalists and the Natural Health Council - joins us at 12.45 to talk about the state of health through the natural health sectors eyes.
1300 – Peter Griffin
Shuffling everything around today and at 1pm Science Media Centre manager Peter Griffin joins us with the biggest, badest and brightest in science and technology news including nuclear powered passenger planes and the new mobile player Black and White.
1320 – Paper Cuts with Pennie
Then Pennie joins us for this weeks Paper Cuts – and it's the illusive LuLa magazine with a byline: Girl of My Dreams. It carries an article about that mysterious girl from primary school who used to sit at the back of the class and kinda skulk around quietly – every classroom had one – and they often eventually turned out to have the best fashion sense…
1340 – Health Minister David Cunliffe
And all things going well, we'll finish the show at one forty with a chat to the Health Minister David Cunliffe – funding, student doctors, waiting lists, hospitals… how would Labour sort this unhealthy mess out?
Aucklanders can tune in at 95 on the FM dial.
