1200 - news, weather and surf with Bjornar
1215 – Education Minister Chris Carter
This week we've talked education with the National party, the Maori party and Hon Pete Hodgson - now it's the government's turn. Education Minister Chris Carter joins us at 12.15 to talk funding, strategy and policy promises.
1230 – President of Secondary Schools Principals Assoc. and Principal of Papatoetoe High Peter Gall
It's nice the politicians have said their piece but what about the people at the coal front doing the doing? What's on their wish list? What about their black marked, strike it off the face of the plant list? Peter Gall, president of the Secondary Schools Principals Assoc. and Principal of Papatotoe High joins us at 12.30 to tell us what is the what.
1300 – Dr Bryce Edwards Senior Political Studies Lecturer at Otago University
What role are the unions going to play in the '08 elections? Have they played their card or are they as powerful and as influential as ever? Dr Bryce Edwards, senior political lecturer at Otago University joins us to shed light on the unions - past, present and political future.
1315 - Allan Matson self-funded Heritage Campaigner
Some of the best bits of Auckland city are the old buildings. We think they're here to stay but the Auckland council might have other plans. Indeed heritage campaigner Allan Matson says there are all sorts of demolish and re-construct plans afoot. He joins us at 1.15 to tell us how come and what we can do about it.
Sometime – Rowan Crowe, Goodnight Nurse's bass player and Deaf Awareness Week
The slogan for this years deaf awareness week is 'listen loud and lose it'. Rowan Crowe from Goodnight Nurse has first hand experience of what this can mean - ringing in the ears, a slow burning loss of hearing you don't notice at first... Rowan also teaches music to teenagers - perharps the hardest audience to sell 'caring for your hearing' to - so how does he get them to listen low and save it? He joined me earlier and I'll replay that interview at some point.
1325 – Science and Tech guy Peter Griffin
Apparently the consumer electronics landscape is changing. Indeed Philips are pulling out of the TV market in NZ. Are the traditional giants suffering at the hands of the Korean brands? Also Mr G went to the TVNZ 7 internet debate last night. Cunliffe, Hide, Greens ICT spokeswoman Metiria Turei and National ICT spokesman Maurice Williamson all spoke. How did they do? Peter has some thoughts on that..
1345 - Penni's paper cuts
Nocturnal magazine - perhaps the definative magazine for Goths? What is a goth - really? And what is a goth magazine? What's in it? Blank black pages with "Tabula Rassa" scribbled in blood red script? Penni will swoop in, in all her darkness, at 1.45pm to get flippy with the nocturnal.
Aucklanders can tune in at 95 on the FM dial.
