Photo Essay: Protesters Brave Storm & Police To Get Message Heard

Scoop Editor's Note: Protesters braved a one-in-ten-year storm and pressed the line with Police to drive their message home on the weekend
while New Zealand's PM Helen Clark met with US secretary of state Condoleezza Rice.
At the peak of the protest around 150 people began to chant "Rice Is A War Criminal!". The voices could be heard inside
Government House in Auckland during the bilateral meetings.
Later, Police were caught off guard when around 70 protesters reformed to gather on the footpath outside Auckland's
Langham Hotel, where Condoleezza Rice was staying. Police called in around 30 reinforcements in an attempt to push
protesters back beyond the barricades.
Two arrests were made, and Global Peace and Justice Auckland spokesperson John Minto was pushed to the ground by Police.
