12:00bNews, Weather and Surf with Will
12:20 Supersize my city
Len Brown is a perfectly content Mayor of Manukau City. He'd be happy for Auckland's structure of governance to stay as it is, but since the royal commission inquiry means change is almost inevitable, he's come up with his next-best solution – a 3-city structure that will amalgamate our current councils into Northern, Central, and Southern cities. He'll tell us why it will work, and why it's better than the "super city" being proposed by some of the other councils.
12:40 Big enough to go it alone
Comment from Papakura's deputy mayor Peter Goldsmith on why he wants his city to retain autonomy.
1:20 A Midsummer Night's Hallucination
Actress Gabrielle Rose will join Kim to talk about the UNITEC third year acting students' take on A Midsummer Night's Dream. Their interpretation of Shakespeare's comedy is unique and thought provoking, drawing inspiration from the dark history of UNITEC's Carrington campus...
1:40The Green Desk
Simon talks to Brendan Hoare, a lecturer in sustainable design and horticulture at UNITEC. He's developed an award-winning sanctuary – a certified organic farm that is a showcase for sustainability and productive landscape ecosystems.
Aucklanders can tune in at 95 on the FM dial.
