Urewera Accused Appear In Court
The defendants charged with firearms offences following the Urewera police raids appeared in the Auckland District Court today and were granted bail variations. One permits defendants Valerie Morse and Urs Signer to associate outside court.
Supporters of the accused gathered inside the court and there was a small protest outside.
The defendants have been remanded until depositions in September. The trial may extend into October due to a request by defence lawyer Annette Sykes for evidence to be heard in Maori.
