What..... another public holiday for the average New Zealander to go to the pub, catch up on gardening or wash the car
while the employer has another unproductive day to pay for. How many 'New Zealanders (in their droves or otherwise)
would actually end up heading out to organised alpine or tramping club activities, getting their skis and snowboards on
and headed for the slopes, getting out and playing a game of the more traditional winter games - rugby, rugby league,
touch, or netball, or even trying their hand at curling'?
Hell - how many would even remember why they are getting a day off in the first place?
I have an idea - how about on July 20 (Sir Ed's birthday) the Inland Revenue takes an extra once- a-year tax of 10% of
the day's income off everyone and gives it to a really worthwile recipient, Sir Ed's Himalaya Trust springs to mind.
That way the averager New Zealander would be sure to remember this great New Zealander for all time.

Anybody notice yet how Obama seems to be on a
ghostbuster tour, invoking the likes of JFK, MLK,
Reagan, or LBJ?
How can that be anything but living in the past
to obtain the future?

Please do not support eh government of the Maldives to promote its 30year dictatorship and continue it again in the
future. The below article is just a part of their propagenda campaign to stay in power for another 30 years.
This is totally rubbish and you should not have published it. Dissapointing!! Please stop suporting dictators!! Your
feedback is appreciate!

Hey just noticed, in a humerous sort of way, that the "seek" maze puzzle add on the xtra home page appears to have an
eye catching pattern similar swastika in the top left hand corner.
bet they did not intend that to happen!

The Council should have done something about the Greymouth memorial posts/gates before Maori took over the property.
Surely, everyone didn't expect something that isn't 'Maori' to remain in place especially at the entrance-way of a Maori
institution. Come on!
Ngati Whatua had a marae on a piece of land that ended up being torn down with nothing to remind future generations that
a marae once stood on prime land being used for a residential zone. Did anyone consult Maori then? People shouldn't use
consultation as an excuse. To this day, NZ has a very very long history of deliberate arrogance toward Maori so far as
'consultation' is concerned. If anyone has a right to complain about consultation, Maori definitely do. NZ should ask
itself, how long have the Greymouth memorial gates been there after Maori took over the property? A lot longer than
Ngati Whatua('s) marae that's for sure. NZ should be grateful that Maori didn't just bulldoze the gates down instead
they were just 'removed' from the property. And how thoughtful was that!
