Mr. Moore is exactly the sort of Labour leader that Right Wingers really love. He is the sort of Labour Prime Minister
that is Prime Minister for a few short weeks," writes Mr Robson. More >> [1]

Freedom On Air: Nicholas Burns Interview With Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty - If you chart the focus of American national security from April 1917 when Woodrow Wilson put 2 million American men
into battle in the First World War, and 1999 when Bill Clinton put 50,000 people into Kosovo, Europe was the epicenter
of American foreign policy. With the fall of the Berlin Wall, with the end of the Soviet Union, with the liberation of
300 million Europeans from communism, Europe is more united and peaceful and stable now than at any time in the past
several hundred years. More >> [1]
Promising News: East Timor Making Progress In Overcoming Last Year's Crisis, Says Ban Ki-moon - Despite the recent flare-up of tensions following the announcement of a new Government, Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon
has commended Timor-Leste on overcoming the crisis of last year that led to the bolstering of the UN presence in the
country which it helped shepherd to independence in 2002. Mr. Ban cautions that the Government will face "a delicate
balancing act" in addressing more immediate problems stemming from the crisis while guaranteeing public security and
ensuring effective socio-economic programmes to tackle issues such as poverty, which continues to be "one of the major
causes of instability" in the country. More >> [1]
Goon Squad: Conclusion Of The Burmese Regime's "National Convention" - The "National Convention" concluded by the Burmese regime yesterday is a sham. Delegates to the convention were
hand-picked by the regime and have not been allowed to engage in open debate about a new constitution. The conclusion of
the National Convention coincides with a brutal crackdown on citizens for peacefully exercising their freedom of
expression. The results of this illegitimate convention clearly do not represent the will of the Burmese people, nor are
they a step toward democracy. More >> [1]
It's All In Your Head: UN Health Agency Urges More Investments, Services For Mental Health Disorders - With up to half of all people with severe mental disorders worldwide and a vast majority of mild or moderate cases
not receiving any treatment, the United Nations health agency today appealed to countries to increase their investment
and support for necessary services. Even when treatment is available, it is often delivered in institutional settings
which in many countries are associated with stigma and human rights violations, WHO noted. More >> [1]
