A silent spiritual revoluion of sorts has started in Oyigbo Local Government Area of Rivers State, one of Nigeria's key
oil-producing states, following a new outreach programme in the area gavalnised by the Redeemed Christian Church of God,
RCCG, esily the biggest church organisation in the country.
The programme which is known as ''An Hour With Jesus'' holds every third Wenesday of the month with the National
Monitoring Officer of the church in charge of Rivers State Province three, Pastor Macaulay Oludotun, and other senior
deliverance clerics ministry.
At the April edition of the programme which was held on Wenesday, April 18, at the Covenant Model Parish of the RCCG in
Oyigbo, scores of participants from other Christian churches claimed that they were deeply touched by the power of the
Holy Spirit.
Pastor Oludotun, while ministering insisted that the programme is non-denominational and therefore open to all
irrespective of their faith. However, the focus of the April 18 event was on ''JESUS IN THE BOAT''.
After some deep explanation of the team, and moving into the delieverance segment of the programme, five visiting
believers openly confessed of being delievered from the power of death.
Before then the officiating minister had announced that the way some people in the congregation were been hunted by the
spirit of death. He also enjoined believers not to aloowed their faith to be shaking by prevealing circumstances.
Hammering on the theme of Jesus in the boat, he, however, stressed that there were five steps believers should always
take. These he said were-firstly not to be frightened by the enemy because Jesus is in te boat with them, secondly waking
Jesus up in times of problem because he is our confidant friend, thirdly making Jesus to be in their statement as he was
in the statement of the disciples, fourthly that Jesus is in the boat, that such boat cannot sink and fifthly that we
should cogitate in order not to allowed what we are going through to make us to forget Jesus.
Meanwhile the May edition is billed to hold on Wednesday, the 16th. Pastor Oludotun says the programme promises to be
very great sice according to him, ''good things are happening in Rivers and as God's people, we have a responsibility to
celebrate the wonderful works of our God''.
