Pacific News: No Fiji Military Coup Today, We're Playing Rugby
Fiji's military commander, Commodore Frank Bainimarama has put off conducting a coup in Fiji so he could watch a game of rugby between Fijian Police and the Army. When asked by local media FijiLive [1] whether the coup would take place, Bainimarama said: "I have not heard anything from him [PM Laisenia Qarase]." When asked by FijiLive what was he going to do now that his midday deadline had passed, Bainimarama said: "Nothing, what do you think is going to happen?" Meanwhile, Fiji's prime minister, Laisenia Qarase is expected to address the island nation shortly. See... Qarase Concedes - Military Achieves Political Coup [2]

Scoop Satire: Commodore Bainimarama Please Come Back To NZ, There's Unfinished Business
By Lyndon Hood - We, the undersigned, being gravely concerned that the New Zealand House of Representatives has retrospectively legalised previous illegal election spending and thus usurped the Constitution of New Zealand and its democratic processes, earnestly petition you, as someone who really understands how to eliminate unconstitutional laws and fight corruption, that you return to New Zealand and "clean up" aforesaid legislation and corruption. Justice: Cullen Stays Action For War Crime
Global Peace and Justice Auckland is appalled at Attorney-General Michael Cullen’s staying of legal action against self-confessed war criminal Moshe Ya’alon who has been visiting New Zealand this week. Cullen on Wednesday over-ruled Monday’s decision by District Court Judge Avinash Deobhakta... Deobhakta found that a prime facie case had been established for Ya’alon’s involvement in the 2002 assassination of Palestinian leader Salah Shehadeb in Gaza City. That bomb strike also killed more than 20 other civilians in the neighbourhood. See... Cullen’s disgraceful defence of a war criminal [1]

Exports: Applegrowers Offered Clayton's Access To Australia
New Zealand apple growers have been denied meaningful access to export to Australia, after the final Import Risk Analysis was released today. Growers say Australia has blindly ignored World Trade Organsation rulings and international scientific evidence to keep New Zealand apples out. In a joint statement today Pipfruit New Zealand (PNZ) and the Australian Apple Action Group (AAAG) called upon the Government to take immediate WTO action against Australia as already promised by New Zealand Government ministers.
