The Pope's high-profile visit to Turkey this week has sparked protests from thousands of Turkish Muslims. They're angry
about a speech given by Benedict the 16 th in September, in which he quoted a 14th century Christian emperor who
described Islam as evil and inhuman. In the same week, the country's EU accession talks have hit a stumbling block after
Turkey refused to lift a trade emgargo against Cyprus.
