12:10 The AUSA report with Dan Bidois
12:40 Dr Nick Smith - National's Environment Spokesman.
After the government's entirely underwhelming announcement of its measures to reduce carbon gas emissions at the Climate Change Policy Symposium in Wellington on Friday, the National Party announced its new environmental policy. And it's rather radical too. On the surface it looks like National 's done a complete turnaround in its attitude to global warming, but critics say their policies have yet to catch up.
1:30 John Minto - Global Peace and Justice Auckland
Iranian Thomas Yagerdy has had his final appeal against the Immigration Department's decision to send him home, rejected. Yagerdy has been in Mt Eden prison for the past 23 months. He's being held because he refuses to sign an application for an Iranian passport, which means the government can't put him on a plane. Yagerdy, who converted to Catholicism 9 years ago sez he's afraid he'll face persecution if he returns to Iran. Human rights group Global Peace and Justice sez Mr Yagerdy's detention is a travesty of natural justice and a disgraceful abuse of human rights.
1:40 Vicki Hyde - NZ Skeptics
