News of the test was met with predictable condemnation from the international community. So, what happens next? Is this a prelude to armageddon, will the Brethren get their Rapture after all? Paul Buchanan is on the Wire with his analysis.

1.45 Jim Tully. Head of the School of Communication at Canterbury. On the weekend acclaimed Russian journalist Anna Politkovskaya became the 13th Russian journalist to journalist to be killed in a contract-style killing since President Vladimir Putin came to power in 2000. According to her colleagues she had been due to publish an article on torture and kidnappings by pro-Moscow forces in Chechnya. Her murder of illustrates the increasing danger inherant in being a practicising journalist in many countries. Joining me to discuss the dangers of journalism is Jim Tully.
