Justice: Govt Holds Iranian Refugee Hostage In Mt Eden Prison

For the past 23 months Thomas Yadegary, an Iranian, has been imprisoned without charge or trial in Auckland’s Mt Eden prison. Global Peace And Justice Auckland (GPJA) states while Iran is not safe for him to return, the government has been pressuring him to sign an agreement absolving the Minister from responsibility in the likely case that Thomas is arrested, tortured or killed on his return to Iran. - Foreign Minister Winston Peters says he's aware who the email-mole is inside the National Party. He informed TVNZ's Agenda programme on Saturday that an "insider stole them from inside the National Party". Mr Peters said he had a good idea who the person was, but distanced himself from any wrongdoing in acquiring the e-mails.
