Texas' voter database, required by federal law to be in effect on 1 Jan. 2006 will not be ready this year and the state's best estimate is now 1 Jan. 2007. / VVPAT problems? Here's a good solution from Ken Blackwell's office. If the VVPAT printer jams, runs out of paper or otherwise destroys the ballot; just run a new tape from the memory card and use that.
