September 11, Terrorism Threat To Peace

Radical terrorists caused American deaths in the Middle East since 1983 when they bombed the marine barracks in Lebanon.
There have been many isolated terrorist acts against Americans since then. However, when the radical terrorists
destroyed the Twin Towers in NYC, they unleashed the concerted support of Americans to fight terrorists worldwide.
I think, If it takes too long to pacify these countries, or if increased debts and inflection accompany the wars, then
Americans may stop their war efforts.
I think, even the limited success in the war against terrorism is inadequate to stop terrorism abroad, but additional
adopted domestic security measures may reduce terrorist successes within the US. Abroad, there are so many terrorists
willing to die for fundamentalism principles, the ultimate outcome of this war will be indecisive, in my opinion.
If Europeans plus Russia and China would cooperate in waging this war abroad, it might be winable, but they have
domestic problems, require Middle East oil like the US, enjoy profitable trade with muslim countries, and are afraid of
US commercial and political affect in the Middle East, so they are limited in their willing to fight. The war is pretty
much a US affair and the US cannot afford to lose it because of its dependence on Middle East oil, which is the main
reason US remain in that region.
US congressional elections will be held in early November. All of members of House of Representatives & 1/3 of Senate must defend their records adequately.
I think, the lack of progress in this terrorism war and on other issues, e.g., border security will remove many
incumbants, but I doubt that whomever is elected will install adequate policies to win the war against terrorism abroad.
On September 11 My Memory
It was September 11, terrorists attacked the US. After the terrorist attack on the US, television networks went gave
24-hour news coverage. Calling the attacks the start of "the first war of the 21st Century," an emotional President Bush
said.
The White House and the U.S. military, particularly the Air Force, took precautions throughout the day. Back in
Washington the Secret Service implemented security checks on the streets near the White House. A helicopter gunship was
seen patrolling the airspace between the White House and Pentagon - an area that includes the National Mall. Defense
officials, sent military aircraft into the skies over Washington D.C. and seven other cities. Outside hospitals,
desperate people clutching pictures of friends and loved ones gathered in hopes of locating some of those still missing.
Buildings across the city were heavily guarded by security staff.
Will the US be able to deal with different kind of terrorist threats? Will the US be able to control small arms
shipments to terrorists? How will the US defend against terrorist groups that call themselves The Shining Path, and
freedom fighters?
As a peace loving journalist with a culture that has values and interests opposed to the values and interests
fundamentalism of radical people, I will state the obvious: bring all the terrorists to justice.
As a victims of terrorism, I want to say terrorism threat to peace.
