Elections: Zogby Poll Confirms US Voters Strong Views On Transparent Elections
- A recent Zogby poll documents ground breaking information on the attitudes of American voters toward electronic voting. They are quite clear in the belief that the outcome of an entire election can be changed due to flaws in computerized voting machines. At a stunning rate of 92%, Americans insist on the right to watch their votes being counted. And, at an overwhelming 80%, they strongly object to the use of secret computer software to tabulate votes without citizen access to that software. See... Stateside: Where Rosalea Visits A Electronics Emporio Fit For The Pharaoh
- There’s an ad on TV that has puzzled me ever since I moved to the Bay Area. It’s for an electronics store that sells not just consumer products but the kind of stuff techies go nuts for--memory upgrades, gold-plated audio jacks, all that jazz. The curious thing about the ad is that it features an owl and the night sky. So, being down in the South Bay this weekend, I decided to find out why. See... Murder: Richard S. Ehrlich's JonBenet Murder Confession Coverage
- BANGKOK, Thailand -- Accused murderer John Mark Karr's last hours in Bangkok on Sunday (August 20) were spent dressing up and discussing Chopin and classical music, while listening to his Thai jailer serenade him with a personal, impromptu version of a 1960s Bee Gees song. Self-conscious, sullen, pale and silent, Karr walked out of the Immigration Department's detention center in the afternoon, escorted for several yards (meters) by a phalanx of unarmed Thai police. Immigration: Locke 'Compassionately' Advocates Blowing NZ's Health Budget -
The Green Party welcomes the scrapping of immigration restrictions on the partners and dependent children of New Zealand residents, but is concerned about the introduction of an age limit of 55 years on residency applications. "The duty of care to older relatives is one that New Zealand should not be automatically obstructing even if, in some cases, the exercise of discretion may place an extra burden on the health budget," said Green MP Keith Locke.
