Elimination Of Landmine Production Needed

Because of ubiquitous war goals landmine production is increasing. Because of incompetence, noncooperation and corrupted
governments all over the world war is increasing and landmine causing more deaths. This is the reason, there is war and
terrorism.
There are people want power and ignorant of the consequences. The only way to eliminate war and terrorism completely is
to eliminate landmine production.
World governments have limited action against landmine production. Because of the ignorance of our world leaders, we
have more deaths and more landmine production. However, eliminating wars and terrorism altogether is possible if we can
stop landmine production.
According to Human Rights Watch report published today said"Thirty-eight countries have stopped the production of
antipersonnel mines, including four that have not signed the Mine Ban Treaty: Egypt, Finland, Iraq and Israel. Apart
from the U.S., there are 12 countries that continue to produce, or retain the right to produce, antipersonnel landmines:
Burma, China, Cuba, India, Iran, North Korea, South Korea, Nepal, Pakistan, Russia, Singapore and Vietnam.
Director of the Arms Division of Human Rights Watch Steve Goose said "The United States shouldn't be making and using
weapons that can't discriminate between a soldier and a civilian. The U.S. should be moving closer to the community of
nations that have banned antipersonnel mines, not farther away."
According to Adopt-A-Minefield (UK) team's report, it says "Each year, up to 20,000 new casualties are caused by
landmines and unexploded ordnance: around 1,500 a month and 40 a day. Eighty two countries are affected by landmines or
unexploded ordnance. The most affected territories include: Afghanistan, Angola, Bosnia, Cambodia, Eritrea, Iraq, Laos,
Somalia, Sri Lanka and Sudan, Burma, Burundi, Columbia, India, Iraq, Pakistan, Philippines,Russia (Chechnya), Somalia,
Sudan and Nepal.
Report further added "order to eradicate absolute poverty from many areas of the world it is first necessary to remove
landmines from the ground.
Clearly, mine action is a development issue as well as a humanitarian issue, a political issue, a social issue, and
ultimately, a human rights issue - for nothing is more basic than the right to life, liberty, and the security of the
person. For these reasons, mine action is very much a development issue". Report further said.
It is true, landmine caused deaths in the world since many many years. There have been many isolated landmine acts
against innocent people since then, but eliminating landmine production are ineffectual.
Now we need to wage action against landmine production globally. Whether we will succeeds in these anti landmine
production is a serious question. If we succeeds in eliminating landmine production globally then war and terrorism will
be abandon.
