New Images: U.S. Killing Of Abu Musab Al-Zarqawi
U.S. Military has released details of an autopsy carried out on the body of Abu Musab Al-Zarqawi. It reported that he
survived for nearly an hour after two 500lb bombs struck Zarqawi's 'safe-house' but died from "massive internal
injuries" caused by shockwaves from the bomb blasts. Scoop has obtained new images of the bombed out 'target' and that
of a diagram report resulting from Al Zarqawi's autopsy.
Last week, United States Forces were tipped off as to where Al Qaeda's leader in Iraq, Abu Musab Al-Zarqawi, was
located.

The autopsies were conducted by two U.S. Defense Department forensic pathologists who were flown to Iraq to conduct the
procedure. Al-Zarqawi, Jones said, died from closed space primary blast injuries. These injuries included rupturing of
the eardrums along with hemorrhaging in the lungs. Bruises, abrasions and lacerations were also found on the head, body
and extremities with a fractured leg.
“The bombing occurred at about 6:12 p.m., Coalition forces were at the safe house at 6:40 p.m.,” Maj. Gen. William B.
Caldwell IV said. Jones said the Saturday autopsy showed that al-Zarqawi died from injuries to his lungs. "Blast waves
from the two bombs caused tearing, bruising of the lungs and bleeding," he said. "There was no evidence of firearm
injuries."
