Scoop also questioned Mr Clarkson on how he was able to, prior to the General Election, get his campaign van signwritten for as little as $119 (inclusive of GST).
Mr Clarkson informed Scoop that the signwriting on the van had been done earlier in the year and had actually cost more than $119 (inclusive of GST). Mr Clarkson further informed Scoop that this total was therefore less than the total cost (estimated by Mr Clarkson as being in the vicinity of $700) due to the way election expenses are apportioned.
According to the High Court decision Peters vs Clarkson the signwriting on Mr Clarksons' van was done in late May 2005 and the entire cost was $119 (inclusive of GST).
