Israel Feeds Palestine on Steady Diet of Death
By Genevieve Cora Fraser
The foot slips
The stone rolls
Down revealing
Their position
Hilltop settlers
Biblical birthrights
By the barrel
Of a gun defend
Rights stolen
From the sacred
People of the Holy
Land taken by force
By the lost minds
Of a wasted
Israeli society
Devoid
Of humanity
Obsessed
Riveted in the culture
Of possession
Of all that once
Was Palestine
Dispossessed
Weep for the dust
In their mouths
Dusk to dawn
Funerals
Dust from ruined
Homes bulldozed
Rubble from dust
To dust ancient dust
Returned
Remnants of stones
Weep for Palestine
In the dusk
Dim light outlines
Cratered existence
Carved out by Israeli
Assassination
Blasts
Targeted to kill
Thinking adults
Doers
Who must be undone
Children that grow
Unless stopped
By bullets
Stopped
By checkpoints
Existence
Is
Waiting is a habit
Worn like a shroud
In Palestine amid
The rubble the stone
Skips along the street
Is picked like a flower
Admired for its weight
The length it can travel
Towards a jeep
Tanks
Kill
Resistance
Bulldozers bully
Gigantic treads
Push a path
Snapping down
Walls like branches
From the Tree of Life
Ancient yet newly sprouted
From the dead seeds
Of tomorrows sorrows
Fighting to breathe
Past the death wish
Imposed
Implanted in the heart
Of darkness enshrined
In Israeli hopes
To eradicate
The people
They pretend to be
Pretenders to the Throne
A self-glorifying
Master Race
Busy
Erasing
All traces
From the scene
Of their Crime
ENDS
