Scoop News: Man Shot By Police In Stable Condition
Stabbing Victim's name released: The victim of today's stabbing in Henderson is 65 year old Kevan Bruce NEWMAN of Mt Albert.
Investigations are continuing, but Police state that it is clear the attack on the owner of Norcross Fishing World and Mr Newman was unprovoked.
Police were called to the scene, issued warnings to the offender to put down the knife.
Police say the offender continued to advance and say officers were left with no alternative other than to shoot.
Police interviews of witnesses to the attack suggest there was an attempted robbery.
The man remains in a serious but stable condition and is yet to be interviewed by Police.
