Terrorism Increasing Leaders Are To Blame
By Kamala Sarup
The world has been suffering because of lack visionary leaders who can guide the nations to a path of peace. The quality of present day leader's loyalty is doubtful. Their interest is vested. It is because of this reason we all human people are suffering from terrorism and injustice today.
The role of the leaders is more important but the scale of this effort should be larger. Leaders can assist peoples movements in framing and carrying out well-conceived strategies for peace.
Already, the humanitarian situation in Iraq to Nepal, Israel, Palestine and many war affected countries is of great concern. The people are highly vulnerable, with thousands of people lacking access to food and shelter.
A good leadership is always needed for leading the social movement because strong leadership is the foundation of development and creation of a just and equitable society. In any time of terrorism and in war, it is the leaders that plays the lead role in bringing about a tangible and lasting solution to the problem facing the nation and the people.
Leaders also can help bring about drastic and conceptual changes. Strengthening independent actors' capacity in leaders can contribute to stability by broadening participation and enhancing prospects for accountability and responsiveness.
But still the over-all situation in the world seems to have considerably damaged now, because the atmosphere of intense fear has gradually increased.
Leaders must remember, If the terrorists and fighting parties do not come to terms, they might go back to violent means again and again, but what I feel and feel strongly is that we must always strive for ultimate peace. We people have a deep desire that we all have a true and lasting peace will be achieved. Of course, all the neutral innocent people want the nation to be free from violence, terrorism and injustice. And to be truly free and really prosperous and happy, we require an open atmosphere of mutual cooperation. We must have peace to achieve this kind of goal in which every individual and group has an equal opportunity of participation in the administration.
People do not want terrorism. They want peace and justice in the country. Its leaders, however, were beset with massive corruption, administration and chaos.
It is the misrule of these main stream political leaders that world has to face the gruesome situation of economic collapse, social degradation and political degeneration. Capturing power at all costs for amassing wealth by whatever clandestine means to enjoy an immoral life became the sole purpose of these leaders who are despotic and always surrounded by close-knit henchmen.
It is in this dubious economic condition when the agenda of national reconstruction was thrown overboard that an extreme leftist element represented now by the terrorists emerged in every countries including in Nepal. If the leaders proudly advocate the sovereignty of the people, they must also without any reservation recognize their exclusive right according to their needs.
Leaders should know how they can campaign for peace among their respective countries? These are the questions needed to be addressed. Leaders have many roles in reconciliation, they include extensive experience in practical problem solving.
The reality is that many people are living a miserable life, they are not educated, do not have facilities to health and safe drinking water. So, people know how political power does not mean improvement overall in people's political, economic or social status. Of the so many unfortunate developments in our world the people became the helpless victims of scrupulous urban and semi-urban thugs and power brokers including terrorists.
But on the other side leaders are always keen to use the people to further their own selfish motives. And the atmosphere of terror ruined the economy.
So the leaders must work towards a mutual problem-solving efforts and should promote positive working relationships between the people. Leaders should think what kind of relationship that will develop between the various peoples that will determine the level of peace, and the recognition of inter-dependence among the conflicting countries.
In reality leaders are creating more trouble in internal politics. The overall political objectives need to be clear. Leaders are choosing a confrontational course, inviting a more chaotic situation and paving the crisis.
So All the leaders must play a stronger role in maintaining peace by addressing issues left over the decades. They should know terrorism usually results from multiple causal factors, that include economic, political, religious, and sociological factors, including injustice among others.
In the past several decades there has always been contradiction in the policies formulated by the different leaders. Even today, the leaders are still busy in their own petty political fighting with no consensus in sight. On the other hand, the terrorists have kept the government on their toes.
Faced with chaos has caused grumbling among the people.
