An Economic Critique Of The Argument For V8s In Wellington
- The Wellington City Council (the Council) has recently released a Statement of Proposal [1] for a V8 Supercar Championship Series, to be run annually over a period of seven years. It has also commissioned a report from McDermott Miller Ltd [2] to assess the economic impact of the event (dated 28 February). This paper from VUW's Martin Lally examines the cost and benefit arguments raised in those two documents, and considers certain additional issues. See... Amnesty Calls For Côte d'Ivoire Investigation Into New Zealander's Death

Anniversary East Timor Massacre: Justice Demanded For Victims
- April 6: On the sixth anniversary of the massacres at the Catholic Church in Liquica, East Timor, the East Timor Action Network (ETAN) urged the international community to heed East Timorese cries for justice.
