Goff Says United Nations Reform Necessary
Foreign Minister Phil Goff has welcomed a report by United Nations Secretary General Kofi Annan calling for decisive and bold reform of the UN. "That vision is of a world where all people are more secure, more prosperous, and better able to enjoy their basic human rights. Collective action in a world where problems, threats and opportunities transcend national boundaries and where we are increasingly globally interdependent is necessary to achieve that end. See... - Marietta Gross reports that scientists have discovered that antioxidants found in apples may block colon cancer cell
growth and kill potential cancer cells. A study of the Institute for Cancerous Diseases of the Intestinal Tract in
Strasbourg concludes that the consumption of apples could contribute to the prophylaxis of colon cancer. Study author
Francis Raul explains that apples contain antioxidants, which stem the cell growth and kill potential cancer cells.

- Marietta Gross reports that a disease similar to Ebola has been detected in Angola that effects children as opposed
to adults. In past three months 39 people in Angola have succumbed to the anonymous disease that has mainly affected

whilst hard fought, was conducted with good humour and respect, according to Labour Party President Mike Williams. In a

HMNZS Te Mana Test-Fires NATO Missile
- The Royal New Zealand Navy frigate HMNZS TE MANA currently in the Tasman Sea off the East Coast of Australia has test
fired a NATO Sea Sparrow missile. These firings are conducted once every two years and provide a significant opportunity
to prove system operations and the ships operational preparedness. The missile used is a Telemetry version of the
