12:15 Kev Maynor
First up we have American bass Kevin Maynor. The singer is performing as part of the AK05 festival. His work centres on the great freedom fighters of the 20th Century, singing the speeches of Gandhi, Martin Luther King Jr, and Paul Robeson. The latter being a civil-rights leader whose activities were considered so subversive that the US government seized his passport for 11 years. Kev Maynor will be in the studio straight after the news.
12:30 Holly Go-Lightly
b play-list favourite Holly Go-Lightly honours us with her presence before her gig at the Kings Arms tonight. The British songtress charms audiences with her gorgeous voice and contrastingly dark lyrics. She’s coming in the studio at 12:30 but can neither confirm nor deny the existence of an accompanying bongo player.
12:45 Steven Crow.
Steven Crow is one of New Zealand's most infamous businessperson. Has built a successful adult entertainment empire that includes the popular Erotica Expo. He has been in the media on several occasions and, although seems to enjoy the media attention, tries to present himself as an honest businessperson. Recently he asked to be a candidate for the ACT Party. On reflection, the party turned him down. To tells us about his rejection Steven Crow is on the phone now.
1:00 Catherine Judd.
After we’ve heard his side of the story we’ll hear from ACT party president Catherine Judd. What does it mean that the ACT party has taken on Banksy and not Steven Crow? Is the Liberal Party becoming more conservative? If so, is this the direction that the party believes will bring them over the golden 5% threshold? We ask Catherine Judd.
1:15 Arts Hole with Sarah Hopkinson
Local arty type Sarah Hopkinson pops in with another report from the gritty world of the Auckland art scene.
1:30 Green Desk with Green Dean
Dean is back with the Green Desk. You know, it’s quite a pain to get in and out of the studio as its made of Kauri. Don’t worry though, Dean made sure it was recycled kauri before he bought it.
1:45 Mag Review with Kris Berger
Our American friend Kris Berger ran into Magazino earlier in the week and made off with this weeks review.
