FICA World XI Collapse Spectacularly
The New Zealand cricket team was busy chasing white leather for most of the first hour of play until old hand Chris
Cairns, and new - but still oldish - hand Jeff Wilson took it upon themselves to send the fans home early.
There will be little likelihood of any power surges in Hamilton this evening, as given the dismal batting display being
provided by the FICA World 11 it is unlikely there will be any need for the game to be played under lights.
As this newsflash is being written the wickets keep tumbling. Five minutes ago the FICA World XI was seven wickets
down, however in the course of this brief missive they have managed to spontaneously combust to finish all out for 81.
Mr Cairns took 6 wickets and his southern chum Mr Wilson took three wickets.
Mr Wilson bowled with some pace and aggression to finish with figures of three wickets for six runs. Mr Wilson also
caused South African player/coach Jonty Rhodes extreme discomfort when a 140 kilometre an hour projectile snuck through
into the jaunty South Africans"breadbasket".
While the match continues with the NZ innings about to commence, it is not expected to do so for very long.
The unfortunate loser in the spectacular collapse of the World XI is the Tsunami Appeal which was based on a dollars for
