12:15 The Yes Men
Media pirates, PR terrorists, reality satirists, or just plain con men? The Yes men pretend to be big-time corporate criminals and politicians to demonstrate their amoral behaviour through a 24/7 media that obviously doesn’t do much in the way cross-checking. They’ve conned experts into believing they represent the WTO, the Bush re-election campaign and the chemical company Dow which still refuses to acknowledge any wrong doing in the Bhopal disaster. Noelle talks to these creative types about their unique style of political activism.
1:00 Marc Alexander, United Future List MP
United Future MP Marc Alexander talks to us fresh off the court after a game of tennis with Gerry Bownlee. Alexander is a former TV chef, restaurateur and most importantly a former libertarian. We ask him why he is voting against the Civil-Union Bill. Does he really believe that Civil-Unions will destroy the fabric of our society? Or does Peter Dunne simply have his members on a very short leash?
1:15 Wayne MacDonald, Acting National Highway Planning Head – Transit NZ
After two years of conflict and indecision Auckland has been told that it will get a tunnel to take northbound traffic under Victoria Park, with all the southbound traffic using the existing overpass. We ask Transit NZ why it has taken so long to get a plan in action and whether this is a compromise that suits no one.
1:30 Green Desk with Green Dean
Resident tree-hugging superhero Green Dean comes in to give us the low-down on the latest environmental matters.
1:45 Arts Bandit with Sarah Hopkinson
Our Arts Bandit Sarah has held up stagecoaches around Auckland to find-out what’s hanging on the city’s walls this week.
Aucklanders can tune in at 95 on the FM dial. From the desk of Noelle McCarthy News and Editorial Director Radio 95bfm
