Rant for the Day - The Center Cannot Hold
By Richard E. Walrath
Has anybody made a study of just how many bad things have happened to this country in the last four years?
You can start with the election fiasco in flori-duh if you want. Follow up with the Supreme Court decision in December 2000, and go on from there.
The squandering of the surplus as far as the eye can see to deficits now as far as the eye can see. Tax-cuts for the rich which the CBO now says did little or nothing to help the economy.
The political decision on stem-cells, the alienation of our allies even before 911, and the insistence on a missile shield to protect us from our enemies were all choices made by Bush that need rethinking.
Bush got a clean slate and then some with 911, and he squandered the entire world’s goodwill toward us by going alone with his war on Iraq.
He can't be blamed for Hurricane Charley, but remember, this is the same man that some idiots were saying was sent to us by God.
At best, all you can say is that some people like Bush may be just plain bad luck--an absolute jinx. Stay as far away from him as you possibly can, and get him out of there as soon as possible.
At the worst, if bush were sent by God, we all don't have much longer to spend here on earth. Another four years of him should just about take care of the earth and everything on it.
But this is just my list of the things that have gone wrong in the last four years-- yours is probably much longer.
